Johnson & Johnson, UNICEF Inks Pact for Women's Health
Johnson & Johnson and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) recently signed a memorandum of agreement to improve women's health care in the Philippines. Part of the grant is a P2.5-million donation from Johnson & Johnson as support for UNICEF's projects related to women and maternal health such as basic emergency obstetric care at the rural health unit and district health center levels.
The project is part of both parties' commitment to develop children's and women's health and welfare. The project also aims to promote their well-being and protect their human rights.
Sealing the partnership with a handshake were Dr. Nicholas K. Alipui, UNICEF country representative and Grace del Rosario-Castaño, Johnson & Johnson President & Managing Director.
