Makro Offers Better Shopping Experience
Pilipinas Makro has re-launched its newly refurbished Sucat store in line with its thrust of excellent customer service and business solutions.
"We always take into consideration our customers' concerns. After all, in this business, the bottom line is quality customer service and that's what we intend to give," Pilipinas Makro president and managing director Bunny Khurana said.
The whole-day event was held in and around the store premises. The day's activities include: a motorcade and an ati-atihan dance; ribbon cutting and opening ceremonies, hourly tour of the Makro store throughout the day until 5 p.m.; recognition of the top five customers; opening of the Makro Suki Corner and Medicine Express; promotional activities by suppliers like autograph signing with some Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) teams, a cooking festival, and photo sessions with a surprise celebrity; and a free-for-all concert.
As part of the refurbishing, Makro has included new additions and noteworthy improvements based on consumer insights, demands and needs. These new amenities include the Makro Suki Corner, the Medicine Express, and a new floor layout for easy navigation around the store.
The Makro Suki Corner, an original Makro concept, is a sari-sari store solution center that provides Makropreneurs with sari-sari stores numerous options on what products they can sell. It also offers special programs on how to improve their business, such as the right kind of assortment for the season, and product recommendations.
Makropreneurs can expect to have a sari-sari store specialist and consultant to guide them through this special section and provide their insights on what to best carry for their stores.
The Medicine Express, on the other hand, aims to provide sari-sari storeowners an outlet where they can easily secure the assortment of medicines that they need.
Makro members may also look forward to the new fresh and non-food sections. Only Makro stores offer fresh product prices lower than those of produce sold at community wet markets. Aside from this, the section boasts of special fish cleaning facilities that is unique to Makro Sucat; surroundings are hygienic and products are guaranteed fresh. The non-food section carries items like small to medium-sized electrical appliances, consumer products and office supplies. All non-food items, like other articles sold at any Makro store, are sold at best-deal, low-prices.
"Anyone who tours this new facility and will see firsthand the thought processes behind the new lay-out. This is our new vision, which represents our industry leadership and our focus on excellence. We intend to continue to build quality into the design of our vision-to be recognized as the best cash and carry wholesale distributor in our industry," Khurana said.
Apart from the improved physical aspects of the store, Makro also now offers account inquiries through the convenience of SMS. To access, members are required to register first by typing <MakroTXT> <space> <reg> <space> <customer no.> <space> <first name> (ex. MakroTXT reg 0412345600) and send to 2333. After the acknowledgement reply from the network, members may start inquiring about their accounts by texting <MakroTXT> <space> <inq> <space> <customer number> (MakroTXT inq 0412345600) and send to 2333. All inquiries will have corresponding acknowledgement replies from the network.
